15th SAG Awards: 2009 SAG winners / SAG Awards winners

Looking for the 2009 SAG winners / SAG Awards winners this year? Who among the Golden Globe winners announced a few weeks ago will score a second win going into the homestretch of the 2009 awards season? Will Slumdog Millionaire win again, or will The Curious Case of Benjamin Button score this time? And what about Kate Winslet, will she score another double solidifying her chances for a first Oscar award in less than three weeks? Well, we'll find out the answers to these questions when the 2009 SAG Awards winners / 15th SAG winners are announced in a few hours time.

Going into the final weeks of the 2009 awards season, and with the Oscar voting in progress, the results of the 2009 SAG Awards holds great significance for all of the nominees. The SAG has become a good barometer of the Oscars as it is similarly peer voting, though on a smaller scale as it only involves the actors' branch of the Academy. SAG winners usually go on to win in the Oscars though there are some exceptions. Still, it will be a good gauge of Academy voters' sentiments.

Slumdog Millionaire is riding high on the crest of previous victories from different awards organizations. It will be interesting to see if the Actors Guild will honor the film's cast with a SAG. If it does, the award will be sweet for the actors in the film who have not been so lucky with nominations of their own in the Oscars and Golden Globes.

Another eagerly anticipated result is the nomination of Heath Ledger. He has been honored by a win in the Golden Globes and a nomination in the oScars. A win at the 2009 SAG Awards will definitely boost his chances of picking up that posthumous Academy Award - the first since Peter Finch won for "Network" in the seventies. My bet is that Heath will win. His fellow actors recognize his talent and his loss, and will definitely give him this last honor he so deserves.

No matter how fit you think you are, age slows down reflexes and saps power from the body. Just ask Oscar De La Hoya.

Antonio Margarito will certainly use his endurance again in this fight. He has often started slow, giving his opponent the advantage in the early rounds and taking the punches. That wears them down in the latter rounds and that's when Margarito makes his move. Just ask Miguel Cotto. Cotto was thought to be the best welterweight in the world when he and Antonio Margarito met in July. In the early rounds it looked like it was going to be a Cotto win. However, he just couldn't last against Margarito and was stopped in the 11th. The same thing will likely happen to Shane Mosley.

A bird? A plane? A UFO at the inauguration! Was a UFO really present during the Obama inauguration in Washington last Tuesday? Don't laugh but that's the big buzz lately as a "UFO" was captured by CNN cameras streaking across the Washington skyline during the inauguration of President Barack Obama last Tuesday. I know this post is quite late but I have been preoccupied the last couple of days and I missed this one. Naturally, shock and curiosity were

my first reactions when I read the news headline. Later, as I viewed the video, my initial reactions were replaced by disbelief. Yup, disbelief that people would think that is a UFO. Of course, I'm no expert (I don't think anybody is) but that thing in the video was just a bird. The fact that it flew between the camera and the Washington monument meant that many people would have seen it with their bare eyes if it had been a spaceship of some sort. And it was flying too low. Even kites wouldn't be missed at such a height!

With assistance and supplies from Katharon, the Ptolemaios 2 is able to continue with her repairs in the mountainous region. The Ptolemaios 2 is forced onto the defensive by an overwhelming number of A-Laws mobile suits, and is surprised when the opposition, on the verge of victory, suddenly ceases their successful offensive and retreats. They learn later that a coup d'etat has occurred at the Africa elevator, led by Sergei Smirnov's old friend Hank Hercule. Setsuna, once learning the news, journeys to the elevator despite still being injured. Upon his arrival, Setsuna is confronted by Mr Bushido and his new machine. Although Setsuna has no interest in fighting him, Bushido forces the situation to a head when he demonstrates the Masurao's secret ability: Trans-Am.

He gained super powers after eating a magical fruit and is now accompanied by his gang of loyal friends called the Straw Hats. Their quest is to find the ultimate treasure, the One Piece.

"President Barack Obama stares down at reporter!" Wow, is there anything more trivial than this? Apparently not, because Obama staring down at a reporter from the White House press corps has been topping the web search charts lately. According to reports, President Barack Obama got visibly irritated when questioned about his appointment of a lobbyist in the Pentagon.

During a brief and surprise visit to the White House press corp earlier today, a reporter asked the President how he can reconcile his recently announced policy on banning lobbyists in his administration yet appointing on to work in the Defense Department. Obviously

. caught off-guard by the line of questioning, he reportedly stared down at the reporter and didn't give a reply. Reports said he looked irritated by the question and instead said he was only there for a visit and that they (the press) will be given an opportunity to ask questions during a scheduled press briefing later.

First of all, the man is no saint, nobody is. So don't expect that Barack Obama will be at his best demeanor every time especially now that he is President, and with all the pressures and problems that the job entails. We all have our highs and lows, some more than others. Most of what we have seen so far is a Barack Obama who is cool, positive and cheerful, unperturbed under pressure, and I think that's how he really is. But everybody has a bad side so we shouldn't expect that it will be rosy with the president everytime.

On the other hand, Obama should prepare himself for more of that line of questioning. reporters are there to ask questions, dig deep into issues, and they will ask the hard (and hard to swallow) questions no matter what. That's their job and that is how we get all the information we read and hear everyday. Barack Obama should prepare himself for more.

Top Chef season 5 episode 9: watch Top Chef 5 Restaurant Wars

Restaurant Wars was the episode of Top Chef season 5 episode 9 / Top Chef 5 9 that aired last night and, by all accounts, it was an exciting episode from start to finish. Steven Starr, a restaurant entrepreneur, was the guest judge of the episode that saw a challenge of developing a restaurant concept (complete with ambiance, design and decor) with the food to match. This must be done in thirty minutes! Suffice it to say that it turned out to be a stressing challenge for the contestants. The winners of this challenge then headed the Restaurant Wars teams. The two teams then battled it out for the Top Chef 5.09 / Top Chef s05e09 best restaurant concept for the judges' approval. This phase of the

competition is stressful enough as it is but became ever more grueling because personal issues got in the way, as always.
