2009 New Year ball drop live online/2009 New Year ball drop video
11,875 pounds and is now a whopping 12 feet across. The flag pole that will hold it atop the One Times Square building has also been rebuilt and reinforced to accommodate the ball. When fully raised it will now be 475 feet above Times Square. And for the first time in its 101 year history, it will remain up all year round.
For those of you planning to join the hundreds of thousands who will welcome 2009 in Times Square, better be prepared for some chilly weather snow showers is forecast on Wednesday night. Moreover, it is advisable to go there early to get a good vantage point. Revelers from all over New York usually come early to reserve the choice spots along Broadway, from 43rd Street to 50th Street, and along Seventh Avenue, up to 59th Street. Also, try to get there before 6 PM to see the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball raised to the top of the 77-foot flagpole at One Times Square and lit. At exactly 11:59 p.m. EST, the Ball will make its 60-second descent down the flagpole to signal the start of the New Year.
For those of us who don't have a chance to go to New York to watch this tradition LIVE, there are several choices. One is to tune in to any of the major television networks. They will all cover this event as there is no exclusive carrier of the Times Square New Year ball drop. The most famous of these coverages is, of course, the other American New Year's Eve tradition, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC. The show center around the New Year countdown and the dropping of the ball, after which musical number from the biggest names in the industry will be showcased. This year, Kelly Pickler is Dick Clarl's Times Square correspondent so it promises to be a night of un and surprises (remember her 'Are You Samerther Than a 5th Grader?' appearance two weeks ago?).
Another option is to watch the 2009 Times Square ball drop online. There are several websites that will feature live video streaming of the event. One such site is livevideo.com. They carried the event LIVE last year so I'm expecting them to do the same this year. Still, if you miss the changing of the year altogether, videos of the 2009 New Year ball drop can be found on YouTube a few hours after the live celebrations. I'm sure YouTube posters will try to beat one another in being the first to post the video so check out the site regularly. You may also check this page for such videos as I will post a copy at the earliest possible time.
For now, as we wait for New Year and the 2009 Times Square live ball drop, here is a video of last year's celebrations including the countdown and the dropping of the giant crystal ball.

BTW, former US President Bill Clinton and his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton, have been given the honor of pushing the button to drop the crystal ball at Times Square this year. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Tuesday that he had selected the famous former first couple to push the ceremonial button at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday night, allowing the huge crystal ball to descend a pole to close 2008 and open 2009.Zune stuck help / Frozen Zune troubleshooting / How to reset Zune
The crisis has been dubbed as the Zune Y2K9 bug, or Z2K9, because of the glitch's timing. Its proximity to the New Year leads many to suspect that it is a software glitch associated with the year end, much like the Y2K bug many feared at the start of the millennium. On the other hand, others contend it cannot be a glitch associated with the new year as 2009 was more than 24 hours away when it happened. What can it be then?
Zune Troubleshooting / How to Reset Zune
Nothing official has come out of Microsoft as of this writing. However, resetting may solve the problem. There are various solutions offered on the web. One is the following procedure offered by Dmodegirl. Just follow the instruction below on how to reset your Zune.
To do this, use a small screwdriver to pop off the plastic shielding where the zune cable plugs into and remove the two screws on either side of the plug. Next pop the cover off and locate the battery plug at the top left corner of the zune, using your screw driver, pop the cable connection half way off, and do this to the other plug on the right side. Wait 3 seconds, then push down the right connector and then the left battery connecter. Your zune should start up immediately. Press the backing of the zune down (make sure headphone jack is aligned) and put the screws and cover back in place.

Ford introduces self-parking car/Ford automatic parallel parking car
perspiration. You'll just sit back, relax and let your car parallel park itself - without a single scratch or ding to your bumper.
Ford president, Mark Fields, recently made the announcement that must have triggered millions of sighs of relief all over the world. The technology, he said, will debut as an option on the 2010 Lincoln MKS sedan and the new seven-passenger Lincoln MKT luxury crossover vehicle. The technology uses ultrasonic sensors on the front and back of the vehicle, combined with electric power steering to angle and guide the car into a parking space, all with the push of a button. Though Ford isn't the first car manufacturer to come up with such an invention (Toyota's Lexus uses a video camera-based parking system that calculates whether the vehicle has enough clearance for a particular spot, see below), Ford's technology is much easier to use and even works in downhill parking situations. Pretty good, huh?
But if you think the technology is fully automatic, with images of James Bond and his 'intelligent car' running through your head, think again. This is just a parking assistance technology. It still needs human intervention as the driver will still need to shift the transmission and operate the gas and brake pedals, while a visual or audible driver interface advises about the clearance from other cars, objects and people. Still, the driver will not touch the steering wheel throughout the whole process as the computer will do all the steering during the parking. The sensor system also monitors blind spots, and can notify the driver with a warning light in the side mirror if something is detected or if traffic is approaching.
And how much will this technology cost? Definitely not cheap, as the Ford president declined to commit to a price when asked about it. After all, it will save the driver a lot of money in the long run, won't it?

New Year's Rockin' Eve 2009/Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve
Hosted by Dick Clark, program consists of live video of Dick Clark in Times Square in New York City, counting down until the New Year ball comes down. However, ever since Dick Clark suffered a stroke in late 2004, Ryan Seacrest has been hosting the show outdoors at Times Square while Dick Clark offers comments from a studio.
After the giant New Year ball drops, the programs shifts to taped musical numbers from a variety of guest stars. The special is live in the Eastern Standard Time zone, and it is delayed for the other time zones so that they can ring in the new year with Dick when midnight strikes in their area.
It first aired in another network (NBC) in 1972 and 1973, afterwhich it moved to ABC in 1974 and has stayed there every year since, except on New Year's Eve before 2000. At the end of 2004, Dick Clark was unable to appear on the program while recovering from his stroke. Regis Philbin filled in as host that year. The following year Clark returned to the show though Ryan Seacrest took over as primary host. In the three and a half decades it has been on the air, the show has become a mainstay in American New Year's celebrations. Watching the ball drop on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve is considered an annual cultural tradition for the New Year's holiday. Kellie Pickler, former American Idol contestant and country music recording artist, will be serving as Ryan Seacrest's correspondent for the majority of the show, replacing Marysol Castro. Among the performers this year are Fergie, as well as appearances by the Jonas Brothers, Robin Thicke, Fall Out Boy, Kellie Pickler, Jesse McCartney, Natasha Bedingfield, The Pussycat Dolls, Tyler Johnson, and Taylor Swift.
This New Year's eve will mark a slight change to the program as the title of the show will reflect Ryan Seacrest's major contribution as host. From this year onwards, it shall be known as the Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

billion watching throughout the world united in bidding a collective farewell to the departing year, and expressing our joy and hope for the year ahead.
There's nothing quite like seeing the ball drop live in Times Square on New Year's Eve. People who have been lucky to experience the event say there's nothing like it, and feeling as the crowd counts down to midnight is unparalleled. For 2009, new Times Square New Years Eve Ball has doubled in size and is 20% more energy efficient than the previous one. The new ball incorporates 3500 lighting cues, weighs 11,875 pounds and is now 12 feet in diameter. The flag pole on the top of One Times Square building where the ball is hoisted has been rebuilt and now enlarged to accommodate the ball. When raised it will now be 475 feet above Times Square. And for the first time in its 101 year history, after New Years Eve, it will remain up all year round.
The event is covered by all television networks as there is no exclusive coverage of the event. But the most notable of all these coverages is the other New Year tradition of America, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Hosted by Dick Clark for the past thirty-five years, the show is making way for some small changes this year with the addition of Ryan Seacrest's name in the show's title. It will now be called 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest'. Seacrest has gradually taken over the hosting of the show eve since Clark's stroke in late 2004.

Caroline Kennedy 'You Know'/Caroline Kennedy interview transcript
In December 2008, Kennedy announced her interest in the
Senate seat currently occupied by State Department-bound Hillary Roham Clinton, to be filled for two years by appointment of New York Governor David Paterson. This is the same seat that was held by Caroline's uncle Robert F. Kennedy from January 1965 until his assassination in June 1968, when he was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination. Though Caroline Kennedy's appointment has been supported by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, State Assemblyman Vito Lopez, former New York City Mayor Ed Koch and the New York Post editorial page, she has received criticism on a number of issues. For one, she did not vote in a number of Democratic primaries and general elections since registering in 1988 in New York City. For another, Caroline Kennedy also did not provide details about her political views. And lately, she has likewise received criticism (and some ridicule) for her manner of speaking.
Caroline Kennedy has the bad habit of using (overusing) the phrase 'you know' when she speaks. And the media has been noticing this of late. In her recent interview with the New York Times, she used the phrase more 138 times over the course of a relatively short interview. It has gotten to the point that you can almost predict when the 'you know' phrase will come out of her lips. A sign of uncertainty, or insincerity? I don't exactly know, you know, what it means but it is certainly a stumbling block if she wants to embark on a political career. Her audiences may get distracted by all her 'you knows' and not listening to her speeches at all. The following is an excerpt of her New York Times interview:
New York Times: Let’s talk a little bit about some of the other candidates who are interested in this job. Andrew Cuomo: he’s been attorney general, he’s been a cabinet secretary, he’s been a close adviser to a governor. He has an extensive record and knows upstate like the back of his hand. Tell me why the governor should pick you over Andrew Cuomo.
Caroline Kennedy: I’m, you know, actually, Andrew Cuomo is someone I’ve known for many, many years and we’ve talked, you know, throughout this process, so, you know, we have a really good relationship and I admire the work he’s doing now and what he’s done, so I’m not really going to kind of criticize any of these other candidates, because I think there are a lot of people with great experience, and, you know, any one of which the governor could easily pick and they’d do a good job.
New York Times: I’m not asking you to criticize; I’m saying, why should he pick you over any of these other ones, what makes you the best candidate?
Caroline Kennedy: Well, it obviously depends what the governor is looking for. I can tell you what I think I’d bring to this, which is, you know, I’m not a conventional choice, I haven’t followed the traditional path, but I do think I’d bring a kind of a lifetime of experience that is relevant to this job. I think that what we’ve seen over the last year, and particularly and even up to the last — is that there’s a lot of different ways that people are coming to public life now, and it’s not only the traditional path. Even in the New York delegation, you know, some of our great senators — Hillary Clinton, Pat Moynihan — came from, you know, other walks of life. We’ve got Carolyn McCarthy, John Hall, both of them have an unconventional background, so I don’t think that that is, uh — so I think in many ways, you know, we want to have all kinds of different voices, you know, representing us, and I think what I bring to it is, you know, my experience as a mother, as a woman, as a lawyer, you know, I’ve been an education activist for the last six years here, and, you know, I’ve written seven books — two on the Constitution, two on American politics. So obviously, you know, we have different strengths and weaknesses. And I think I also bring kind of a lifetime commitment to public service, a knowledge of these issues, and I’ve spent a lot of time encouraging people, and younger people, to go into public service, through a lot of the, you know, nonprofit work I’ve done. So I think it’s a whole, it’s different, it’s completely different, and it really is up to the governor to decide who would do the best job. But in terms of a family commitment —
New York Times: But do you think, in your own view, those things would make you a better pick for this job than other candidates?
Caroline Kennedy: I think they would make me a really good pick for this job, and, um, it’s up to the governor to decide, you know, who would be the best. Really. And I think there are many ways to serve, and I’ve loved what I’ve done so far, and I plan to continue, I think, you know, serving and advocating for the issues that I think are important. So, if it’s this, that would be wonderful, because I really do think that the relationships that I have in Washington — you know, I worked hard on the Obama campaign, I have a good relationship with many of the people that are coming in to the administration, in the Senate, others, both sides of the aisle, you know, that’s the kind of work that I’ve done outside of politics. It hasn’t been sort of a partisan kind of career that I’ve had. So I think that at this point in time, that’s what people are looking for.
New York Times: Do you think you would be the best for the job of the people who are out there?
Caroline Kennedy: Well, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I would be the best. (Laughter) Do you think you’re the best for your job? I assume you do. Uh, yeah.
New York Times: OK. I just want to be clear, because you seem to be saying it’s up to the governor to decide —
Caroline Kennedy: Well, it is up to the governor to decide, and it is up to the governor to decide what’s best for New York. You know, I think that I could advocate for New York, I think that we are losing a very visible, very strong, very powerful advocate in Hillary Clinton, and I think it’s to New York’s advantage to have somebody who can, you know, bring attention to New York, you know, bring four people from The New York Times here to the coffee shop (laughter) and really put that to work for average people. This is not, you know, about me, it’s about what I can do to, you know, help New York get its fair share, help working families, travel the state, bring attention to what is going on up there. So that’s why I think I would be good.
How many 'you knows' did you find? Did you count them? He he. For the full transcript of her New York Times interview (and more 'you knows'), check it out HERE. BTW, I found the following video clip on YouTube. It's another Caroline Kennedy interview with more of her 'you knows'.

Melissa Berry n-u-d-e pictures/Melissa Berry n-u-d-e photo lawsuit
Dawson said Melissa Berry, who poses in various stages of undress in front of cameras and used to be a dancer at Thee Dollhouse, willingly posed for the photos, and that he never made anything public. "This is nothing but an ex-girlfriend trying to cause problems," he said. "For her to say that these pictures were taken against her knowledge is untrue because she is smiling in them. She takes her clothes off for a living and tells people I am doing all this other stuff. What she's doing now is creating a drama because there are pictures out there of her."
On the other hand, Berry argues, "If I wanted to take my clothes off for a living, that's what I would do,'' she said. "There's not a photographer that has ever taken those sorts of shots of me. It's more of a privacy thing. It's not for everyone else to see." She said in her lawsuit that Dawson used his cellular telephone to take several nude photographs of her, including one taken without her knowledge of her "engaged in a particularly private, intimate sexual act." Berry's lawsuit says she never agreed the photos would be shown to anyone else.
Melissa Berry also said Mark C. Dawson sent her mother an electronic message Nov. 10 saying that if Berry wouldn't pay him $500 to replace his phone, Dawson would make the photos public. When Berry refused, the lawsuit said, Dawson or someone acting on his behalf posted the photographs on MySpace. Berry said the photos also were e-mailed to her mother.
Both sides seems to have valid points. However, my question now is, does Melissa Berry have a valid argument when taking off her clothes is what she does for a living? Was her privacy really violated? That's what we're going to find out as the case unravels. In the meantime, the hot Melissa Berry n-u-d-e photos seem to have been removed from the web. Even MySapce does not have it anymore. But don't worry, I will try to locate copies of the Melissa Berry pictures and post them here (the sanitized versions, of course). Check back for it regulalrly.
Note: The Lingerie Football League is an offshoot of the Lingerie Bowl. The concept originated from the hugely successful Super Bowl halftime alternative television special called the Lingerie Bowl, a pay-per-view event which was broadcast at the same time as the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show. The event featured two teams of models playing an American football game while dressed in lingerie. The Lingerie Football League will kick off its inaugural season in Fall 2009 with ten franchises including Los Angeles Temptation, Phoenix Scorch, Seattle Mist, San Diego Seduction, Dallas Desire, New England Euphoria, Chicago Bliss, Atlanta Steam, Miami Caliente and Tampa Breeze. LFL games are set to air on cable television in Fall 2009.

Laura Zuniga jailed, stripped of title; Laura Zuniga photos/pictures
Mexican beauty queen, Laura Zuniga, who ended up in jail after she was picked up with a drug cartel, has been stripped of one of her titles. Organizers announced the move as a consequence of the events known to the public in which Miss Laura Zuniga was involved in. Officials further said she "failed to follow the rules of the contest, which state that the winner must display correct behavior, stay away from scandals and bad habits, and be a good example to society."
The 23-year-old beauty queen was arrested several days ago at a military checkpoint in Mexico while in the company of seven men who were very heavily armed with multiple AR-15 rifles, pistols, cartridges, dozens of mobile phones and were carrying over $100,000 in cash. Zuniga is being held for 40 days while investigators are considering charges. She was ordered detention along with the men, who are suspected of drug trafficking and transporting weapons. It's been reported that she's the girlfriend of one of the leaders of the group, Garcia Urquizar. Zuniga stared at the ground, trying to cover her face with her long hair, as she was lined up with the seven gunmen in front of journalists.
How did this seemingly intelligent girl get involved with these kind of people? And to think that she was a former pre-school teacher! She certainly deserves to be stripped of this beauty title, plus the other ones she has won. In July this year, she won Miss Sinaloa and gave a speech about how society should value hardworking women. Well, is drug trafficking considered hard work these days? No word from organizers of that event on whether she will be stripped of that title as well. (Photo source: tvshark.com)

Katharon's offensive against the Memento Mori superweapon goes poorly, with A-Laws' superior units both nullifying the resistance's missile attacks and decimating their obsolete mobile suits. 00-Raiser's timely arrival saves the fleet from being completely wiped out as Setsuna single-handedly takes on the A-Laws forces and a new Gadessa, piloted by Healing Care. The Ptolemaios 2 approaches the Memento Mori head-on in its blind spot, but is soon forced into the path of the laser's firing path; however, the ship miraculously survives the attack by using Arios' Trans-Am to dodge, and ensures its safety with Cherudim's new Shield Bit system. Thanks to Nena Trinity's leaked information, Tieria's Buster Cannon and a precise hit from Lockon Stratos exploits a weakness in the Memento Mori and destroys the superweapon, taking Arba Lindt's life in the process.

UFC 92 results / UFC 92 results videos / UFC 92 fight results videos
Zero. That's right, I got zero out of the three main events in UFC 92. In the Wanderlei Silva vs Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson fight, I went for Silva despite the age disadvantage because I thought he would repeat over Jackson. After all, Wanderlei Silva scored twin devastating victories over his foe when they both fought in PRIDE, and in both times, Jackson had to be saved from serious
injury by the referee. That was what I counted on. I was wrong. Rampage Jackson reversed the outcome this time. He landed a vicious right to Silva's chin that ending theie UFC 92 fight quickly and shockingly.
In the Frank Mir vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira UFC 92 match I went for the latter due to his impressive record. His physical conditioning is great and his previous fight record is even more impressive, fighting the best and the baddest in the sport in his previous thirty seven fights. It is for this reason that Nogueira is often compared to a cockroach because he couldn't be "killed". This time, however, the cockraoch finally went down in the second round of their UFC 92 fight as Mir pummeled him with a series of punches until the referee stopped the fight.
The main event was disappointing for me as well. I expected Forrest Evans to dominate Rashad Evans in their UFC 92 fight. Thought both fighters were evenly match during the first two rounds, the third round proved to be decisive for Evans. He took Griffin to the gound and hammered his way to victory with a series of hammer fists and power shots to become the new UFC light heavyweight champion.
For those who missed these fights or those who have seen them but want to watch them again, the UFC 92 fight videos will be posted here soon. They are not yet available online. Please check back for it. Rest assured that you will see the UFC 92 videos on this page as soon as possible. For now, here is a round by round account of the UFC 92 fights from Mike Chiappetta of MSNBC Sports.
UFC 92 Fight Results: Light Heavyweight Championship
Forrest Griffin vs Rashad Evans
Round One: Fight goes to plan early, with Griffin taking the center of the octagon and Evans counter-punching. Griffin uses his length well, and that will be a key for him. Both land heavy leg kicks three minutes in. Griffin landed a shot to the body that Evans winced at, which was the most significant punch of the round. Close round, likely to Griffin.
Round Two: Forrest flurried early in the round, and though he didn't land much, it likely made a good impression on the judges. Griffin is staying busy. Evans landed a big right with a minute to go. As the round ended, Griffin landed with an overhand right that caused Evans to wince again, but looked like a finger landed in his eye. Another close round.
Round Three: Evans hammered Griffin with a right, Griffin went down and Evans followed up with hammer fists and power shots from the top. Huge scoring shots for Evans. Forrest defends well for a while before taking a big elbow from the top. That opened things up for him. Evans landed a solid right, then jack hammered him with lefts from the top until ref Steve Mazzagatti called the fight.
Interim Heavyweight Championship: UFC 92 Results
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Frank Mir
Round One: Nice uppercut early from Mir, who snaps Nogueira's head back. Mir gets the takedown but eventually lets Nogueira up. Mir smashed Nogueira with a left hook and Nog went down. Mir winning the fight early on. Nog answered late with a right against the cage. Another big left by Mir as the bell ends. Excellent round for Mir, probably a 10-8.
Round Two: Mir rocked Nogueira with another left, then another. Nogueira went down and was in big trouble. Mir chased him to the ground and pummeled him with a series of punches until ref Herb Dean stopped it.
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson vs Wanderlei Silva
UFC 92 Results: Light Heavyweight Match
Round One: Surprisingly, there was a feeling-out process early on, as they circled around and Rampage showed off some increased head movement. Rampage tried a take down two minutes in that was easily stuffed. The end came quickly and shockingly. Silva threw a right cross that missed, and Jackson countered with a left hook. It landed right on the chin and Silva was unconscious before he hit the mat. The ref stepped in but Jackson landed two more shots before being pried off Silva.
Rampage gets a measure of revenge on Silva, who knocked him out in similarly brutal fashion in their last fight with a knee to the face.
Mike Massenzio vs CB Dollaway UFC 92 Middleweight Fight
Round One: These two have excellent wrestling backgrounds and they competed against each other in junior college. Massenzio rocked Dollaway with a right, then got a guillotine. Massenzio looked like he had it, but Dollaway pulled out. Massenzio ended up on top and worked quickly to improve position. Dollaway got full mount, and Massenzio gave his back up. Dollaway landed punches from the back mount until ref Yves Lavigne stopped it for another first-round stoppage.

Cheick Kongo vs. Mostapha Al-Turk
Round One: Kongo is a heavy favorite in this one. Early on, Al-Turk threw a leg kick, Kongo caught it and landed a right that put Al-Turk down. Kongo didn’t follow up though, and let Al-Turk up. Al-Turk expended a lot of energy trying for the take down, but Kongo defended well as they clinched against the cage. Al-Turk accidentally hit him with a knee to the cup, and timeout was called. On the restart, they clinched, and Kongo returned the favor with a low blow. It's not MMA; it's Roshambo! They restart again; Kongo nailed Al-Turk with a hard right behind the ear, then one on the chin. Al-Turk went down and Kongo followed up with short elbows followed by heavy rights from the top, until referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the fight.

Naruto Shippuuden 90 SUB [High Quality]New Year quotes, New Year Comments, New Year quotations
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas.
Why won't they let a year die without bringing in a new one on the instant, can't they use birth control on time? I want an interregnum. The stupid years patter on with unrelenting feet, never stopping - rising to little monotonous peaks in our imaginations at festivals like New Year's and Easter and Christmas - But, goodness, why need they do it? by John Dos Passos, 1917
Time has no divisions to mark its passage, there is never a thunder-storm or blare of trumpets to announce the beginning of a new month or year. Even when a new century begins it is only we mortals who ring bells and fire off pistols. by Thomas Mann
"Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right." by Oprah Winfrey
The only way to spend New Year's Eve is either quietly with friends or in a brothel. Otherwise when the evening ends and people pair off, someone is bound to be left in tears. by W.H. Auden
The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to. by P.J. O'Rourke
New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights. by Hamilton Wright Mabie
Glory to God in highest heaven,
Who unto man His Son hath given;
While angels sing with tender mirth,
A glad new year to all the earth. by Martin Luther
I do think New Year's resolutions can't technically be expected to begin on New Year's Day, don't you? Since, because it's an extension of New Year's Eve, smokers are already on a smoking roll and cannot be expected to stop abruptly on the stroke of midnight with so much nicotine in the system. Also dieting on New Year's Day isn't a good idea as you can't eat rationally but really need to be free to consume whatever is necessary, moment by moment, in order to ease your hangover. I think it would be much more sensible if resolutions began generally on January the second. by Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. by G.K. Chesterton
Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever. by Mark Twain
New Year's Eve, where auld acquaintance be forgot. Unless, of course, those tests come back positive. by Jay Leno
May this NEW YEAR be a song of THANKSGIVING, an offering of PRAISE, a celebration of GOD’S LOVE in HIS Amazing GRACE!
A blessed & joyous 2008 to you and your family!
“How do you measure a year? In daylights, sunsets, midnights, cups of coffee… in laughter & strife. Remember the love. Measure your life in SEASONS OF LOVE.” I hope you have a lot of these seasons to look back at in 2008 & wishing you many more of them in 2009. A happy new year!
Barack the Magic Negro lyrics: Barack the Magic Negro lyrics/video
The CD, called 'We Hate the USA' lampoons liberals with such songs as 'John Edwards’ Poverty Tour', 'Wright place, wrong pastor', 'Love Client #9', 'Ivory and Ebony' and 'The Star Spanglish banner'.Several of the track titles, including “Barack the Magic Negro,” are written in bold font. Its title was drawn from a Los Angeles Times column that suggested President-elect Barack Obama appealed to those who feel guilty about the nation's history of mistreatment of African-Americans. Saltsman said the song, penned by his longtime friend Paul Shanklin, should be easily recognized as satire directed at the Los Angeles Times and nothing else.
Though the song is almost two years old, and the presidential campaign is over, 'Barack, the Magic Negro' is getting huge attention at the moment because if its controversial 're-release'. For those of you interested, here are the lyrics to 'Barack, the Magic Negro' as well as two music videos I found on YouTube.

Barack the Magic Negro Lyrics
Barack the Magic Negro lives in D.C.
The L.A. Times, they called him that
‘Cause he’s not authentic like me.
Yeah, the guy from the L.A. paper
Said he makes guilty whites feel good
They’ll vote for him, and not for me
‘Cause he’s not from the hood.
See, real black men, like Snoop Dog,
Or me, or Farrakhan
Have talked the talk, and walked the walk.
Not come in late and won!
Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.
The L.A. Times, they called him that
‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.
Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.
The L.A. Times, they called him that
‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.
Some say Barack’s “articulate”
And bright and new and “clean.”
The media sure loves this guy,
A white interloper’s dream!
But, when you vote for president,
Watch out, and don’t be fooled!
Don’t vote the Magic Negro in –
‘Cause —
’Cause I won’t have nothing after all these years of sacrifice
And I won’t get justice. This is about justice. This isn’t about me, it’s about justice.
It’s about buffet. I don’t have no buffet and there won’t be any church contributions,
And there’ll be no cash in the collection plate.
There ain’t gonna be no cash money, no walkin’ around money, no phoning money.
Now, Barack going to come in here and ........

UFC 92 results video: Griffin vs Evans UFC 92 fight results video
UFC 92, the last mixed martial arts fight showdown of 2008 is eagerly anticipated by every UFC aficionado. It will not only have a main event in the Rashad Evans vs Forrest Griffin match up, UFC 92 will also be featuring two other big co-main events - the UFC
interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira against former UFC heavyweight champion and current number-one heavyweight contender Frank Mir, and former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson against former PRIDE champion Wanderlei Silva.
UFC 92 Update: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira never had a shot. Frank Mir, the submission specialist, did his best Klitschko impression by schooling Big Nog in a boxing match. Mir pounded Nogueira time after time in the opening round with right uppercuts fighting out of a southpaw stance. Nogueira simply couldn't see the punches coming and went down three times in the round. It was the same deal in the second as Mir doubled up left hooks and floored Nogueira. He jumped on top and threw nine more strikes. Referee Herb Dean had to step in to save a stunned Nogueira at 1:54 of the second.
Quinton Jackson fought at a measured pace and let Silva stalk him for the first two minutes of the first round. Silva tried a three-punch flurry and Jackson countered with a thundering left hook that blasted Silva on the chin. "The Axe Murderer" was out before he hit the floor. When he did, his arms went straight back like he was making a snow angel. Jackson jumped on top to finish the fight with three more punches. Referee Yves Lavigne wrestled him away from Silva, who remained on the mat for a few minutes after the fight.
Rashad Evans took Forrest Griffin to the ground and pounded away to become the new UFC light heavyweight champ.
For round-by-round UFC 92 fight analysis and play-by-play account, as well as VIDEOS of the fights, check them out HERE.
Who will prevail in each of the fights? Will Evans be able to overcome a height and reach advantage to conquer Griffin? Evans was a very good college wrestler who has demonstrated real knockout power, and I'm tempted to pick him. But I think Griffin is going to show off his underrated Brazilian jiu jitsu and win this fight on the ground. Moreover, Griffin was impressive when he submitted Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in 2007, at a time when Rua was rated No. 2 in the world. He then went on to win the title by taking a decision over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
In the other match, can Frank Mir stop Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira? The former PRIDE heavyweight champion, who has fought some of the biggest and baddest men in the sport in 37 professional fights, has never been stopped. It is for this reason that even Mir refers to him as a cockroach that can’t be killed. For this fight, the cockroach will still probably prevail. The winner of this fight will later face UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (UFC 91 winner) for a title-unification bout in early 2009 and I think Nogueira will be it. though Frank Mir boasts of his great physical conditioning for this bout, the more likely result is that Nogueira will show us why he's one of the legends of the sport.
Wanderlei Silva, the former longtime PRIDE 205-pound champion, scored a pair of devastating victories over Jackson when both fought in PRIDE. His knees and his kicks were the difference and in each fight, Jackson needed to be saved by the referee. The losses haven’t humbled Jackson, who said in an interview with UFC.com that he’s not afraid of Silva and that he doesn’t expect Silva to get lucky again. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson has improved a lot since then in the areas of skill, technique and physical conditioning, and Silva, who at 32 is two years older than Jackson, probably isn't as good a fighter as he was then. However, many still believe that Silva is going to come into this fight with a game plan that will give Jackson fits.
UFC 92 is but a few hours away. Let's wait and see if these predictions turn out to be correct. Just like with UFC 91, this blog will feature the results of the fights, as well as its videos. Please check this page regularly for it. For now, here are the match ups for UFC 92:

Prison Break season 4 episode 17: Prison Break 4.17 (s04e17)
Last six episodes, that's what is says in the preview clip. Do they mean last episodes for the season or last episodes for the series. There are still persistent rumors about the ending of Prison Break this season brought about by the ordering of an additional two episodes which, speculators claim, are needed to tie down loose ends. No official confirmation
about this rumor yet but the "last six episodes" teaser on the Prison Break "R.I.P." preview surely won't stop the speculation.
