Is inner beauty the true beauty? This is what the True Beauty TV show (an "inner beauty TV show"), explores as it premiered this week on television screens across America. Six good-looking females and four males (mostly models or model wannabes) will be confined in a single house thinking that they are competing for a regular beauty pageant where physical appearance is the ultimate power. Little do they know that the judges, supermodel Cheryl Tiegs, fashion critic Nol Marin and host Vanessa Minnillo, will evaluate them based on their inner beauty. True Beauty is the latest reality-based competition on TV from the partnership of Tyra Banks and Ashton Kucher.While confined in a Los Angeles mansion, while cameras of course, they will undergo a series of challenges, including the scenarios and situations that will require them to make moral judgments. Each True Beauty episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants' behavior and eliminate one person. One person considered 'not beautiful inside', will be eliminated each week, and shown the footage of them taken by the hidden cameras. Only after someone is eliminated will the truth about True Beauty be revealed to him/her, as they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera.
At the end of eight episodes, one winner will be declared, a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. The winner will receive cash prize and land a spot on People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People. Interesting competition, don't you think?
