Honda’s attractive new Brio first look, Based on the 2CV design concept shown at the Auto Expo in Delhi. The main reason for Honda to develop Brio was that the sales of Jazz is declining day by day due to its high price. Honda Cars India don’t want to repeat the mistakes and it is expected that they are going to price Brio very comptitively. It is expected that Honda Brio will be available in 4 variants: E, S, V and VAT. With the 3.6-metre length and relatively compact dimensions mean this car is shorter than a Honda Swift. Interiors same like the Toyota Etios, no conventional central console, with the music player in fact aligned horizontally with the instrument panel. Double DIN music system, like in the Honda City, has no CD player and only iPod support.

Three-cylinder version, powered by the same 1198cc, SOHC, i-VTEC Petrol engine of Jazz with maximum power of 89 Bhp at 6200 rpm. To improve fuel efficiency, Honda has used Michelin Energy tyres and has added flaps at the lower end of the front bumper and rear tyres to further reduce the coefficient drag. A very cost competitive prices expected to start at Rs 4.5 lakh. Brio will arrive around September 2011, which means that it will be the last of the three hatchbacks launched next year. M&M to Launch SUV ‘Thar’ in India, Priced at Rs 6-8 Lakhs

As per the latest buzz in the automobile sector, the off-roader Mahindra Thar is all set to roll out on Indian roads this December. According to the Mahindra and Mahindra’s official Facebook fan page, the company will launch Mahindra Thar in India on 21st December, 2010. The SUV will be first launch in Kerala and Rajasthan.

Mahindra Thar was showcased last month at the Performance Autocar Show in Mumbai. As per the reports, Thar is a refined version of Commander Jeep and is being re-introduced by nearly after 10 years in the Indian market. Thar is powered by a 2.5L, 4 cylinder, turbo-diesel direct injection common rail engine that generates 105 bhp of raw power at 3800 rpm and ground breaking 247 Nm torque at 1900 rpm.

The much awaited off-roader also features 5 speed gearbox with manual transmission. The new generation independent torsion-bar front suspension system has been used in Thar by the company.Mahindra Thar will be available in four color options including Arctic White, Mist Silver, Black and Toreador Red.

Huawei to Launch IDEOS Android Phones in India Soon

Chinese giant Huawei Technologies is all set to launch IDEOS Android phones is India by next year in the month of January. The company will launch three Android phones in the country one after the other, as per the reports. The smartphones are IDEOS U8150, IDEOS X5 and the X6.

IDEOS U8150 is expected to roll out in India in this month. The features and specifications of U8150 are pretty good for such an affordable priced handset. The cell phone is expected to feature a 2.8 inch QVGA “Capacitive” touch-screen. Interestingly, the phone will feature Android 2.2 (Froyo) at launch. However, it has slow 528 MHz processor. Other features include 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and 3.5mm jack.

IDEOS U8150 Price in India: As of now, there is no official announcement on the pricing of IDEOS U8150, however it is expected to be priced at under Rs. 8,000. It’s a nice phone and can cater to entry level, medium and mid-high level segments.

Huawei Phones

Apart from IDEOS U8150, Company is also planning to launch two mid-range Huawei IDEOS branded phones – the X5 and the X6. These phones are expected to hit the Indian stores by mid-January 2011. They both run on the Froyo edition of Google’s Android operating system.

Both, X5 and X6 are almost similar when it comes to specifications, like both of them feature 5 megapixel auto-focus cameras that can also record 720p video. They also support Dolby mobile sound enhancement and 3G speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps. However, X5 comes with a 3.8-inch capacitive screen, while the X6 has a bigger 4.1-inch 800 x 480 pixel one.

“We are planning to launch Android based smartphones Huawei X5 and X6 around the third week of January, and as of now I cannot comment about its pricing”, Huawei spokesperson said.
