. Damages revolves around the the life and career of a brilliant yet ruthless lawyer, Patty Hewes, her protégé Ellen Parsons and the law firm Hewes runs in New York City. The debut season found Hewes attempting to win a class-action lawsuit against the former CEO of a corporation on behalf of his former workers.

In a flash-forward, Ellen has a liaison with Wes Krulick.
