Notorious is the life story of Christopher George Latore Wallace, as American rapper popularly known as The Notorious B.I.G. but also known by his other aliases - Biggie Smalls (after a gangster in the 1975 film Let's Do It Again), and Big Poppa. He lead a colorful and turbulent life on and off the stage culminating in his shooting death in March 1997 in Los Angeles. The film details his life and career with "objective realism" that has captured the interest of audiences.

B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility.
