Parliament adjourns over 2G spectrum row

Question Hour in both Houses of Parliament was wasted for the 21st working day on Friday over Opposition demands for a JPC probe into 2-G Spectrum allocation scam.
Soon after Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar made obituary references to two former MPs, Opposition members mainly from BJP and SP walked into the well shouting slogans in support of their demand.
Some members displayed placards of newspapers clippings on the scam. A placard read "Desh me ghotala, videsh me apmaan, Yeh dekho UPA ki shaan (Scam in the country, disrespect abroad, this is the achievement of UPA)".

This was a reference to the patting down of Indian Ambassador to USA Meera Shankar. Some placards referred to the Ratan Tata-Rajeev Chandrashekhar spat over NDA's Telecom policy. Amid din, the Chair adjourned the House till noon first and then till 3.30 pm later.
Earlier, when the House met for the day, Kumar paid tributes to two former members, Meghrajji and M Rajashekara Murthy.
The House also condoled the death of 14 people in a heavy rains in coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh. The rains also left several people homeless.
In the Rajya Sabha, opposition BJP and AIADMK members trooped into the well even before Chairman Hamid Ansari took his seat. "We want only JPC," they shouted, as Ansari took up the first listed question of the day. "Please go back to your places," he said, but members were unrelenting.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy rose to speak but he could not be heard in the din. Opposition members then raised slogans of "JPC-JPC, Only JPC."
As the din continued, Ansari adjourned the House till 1200 hours to begin with, and then till 2.30 pm.
