'One to Go' of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will see the last of Gil Grissom in season 9 episode 10 (s09e10). Through a press release by the producers earlier, it has been revealed that William Petersen will act as lead character Gil Grissom for the last time on 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' when the series airs its first episode of the new year on January 15. In the story, Grissom will make his surprising announcement to his team after working on the 'Dick and Jane' murders and offer a permanent position to Dr. Raymond Langston before he leaves. It will be a sad parting for the CSI team as Grissom has become an integral part of investigations. We will see how this unravels, and how his team reacts, when 'One to Go', CSI9.10 (season 9 episode 10) airs next year.

The CSI team is shocked and saddened when, after working with Dr. Raymond Langston (Fishburne) on the "Dick & Jane" murders, Grissom announces that his time as a CSI has come to an end and offers Langston a permanent position on the CSI team.
