Superstars of Dance premieres tonight, an international dance competition that will pit various dance masters from eight different countries. This reality dance competition will feature equal parts sporting event, rock concert and artistic exhibition. The eight countries currently scheduled to participate include: Ireland, India, USA, Argentina, China, Russia, South Africa and Australia. Unlike two other dancing competitions, "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars" which determine their winners through viewers' vote, Superstars of Dance will rely its evaluation on the selected world-class judges.From the eight participating countries, each team, consisting of two soloists, one duo and one larger group, is expected to perform their dance styles based on their culture, such as tango from Argentina and classical ballet from Russia. One nation will be crowned as the world's best. The United States will be represented by duo ballet dancer experts Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna, who have held three world and three U.S. cabaret championship titles. Apart from the U.S., the line-up will include Shaolin Monks from China, Russian Cossack dancers and Bhangra dancers from India. Interesting!
Viewers will get to know the competitors and the coaches through the trials and tribulations, both behind the scenes and on the stage. The stakes are high for these artists, as they are not only representing themselves, but also their dance form and their entire nation. This promises to be another reality competition that will capture the audience's interest. What's interesting about this show is that is a competition among nations so expect it to be tough and emotional.
