NEW DELHI: Japanese two-wheeler major Yamaha has come up with another high end sports bike in India, the FZ1, a 998cc motorcycle, targeted at high end and sports bike users. India Yamaha Motor also introduced a 153cc motorcycle SZ-R in India.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & Managing Director, India Yamaha Motor said, “India is one of the key markets for Yamaha and we have been constantly shifting gears to transform the market from utility to pleasure & lifestyle. Yamaha offers innovative designs, sporty looks and premium features across models as part of its strategy to give consumers a new thrill in biking.”
As a fast naked motorcycle, FZ1 is quite popular in Europe. FZ1 is equipped with a de-tuned previous generation Yamaha R1 superbike engine. Riding FZ1 is a real delight for bike aficionados as it delivers comfortable riding position and ultimate riding experience.
Yamaha FZ1Superbike FZ1 also features a die-cast Deltabox aluminium frame, extra-long truss-type aluminium 624mm swingarm suspension, fully adjustable independent damping front fork, and dual 320 mm front disc brakes with 4-piston calipers. Yamaha FZ1 comes with electric starter system and generates a maximum power of 1103 KW @ 11,000 rpm. It will be available in Black and White colors.
Yamaha 153cc SZ-R is powerful, comfortable and stylish bike featuring front disc brake, tachometer and has tank protector. The SZ-R will be available in 3 dazzling colors including Quality Black, Quality Red and Quality Blue.

Yamaha FZ1 is priced expensively at Rs 8.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India.
