Huawei to Launch IDEOS Android Phones in India Soon


Chinese giant Huawei Technologies is all set to launch IDEOS Android phones is India by next year in the month of January. The company will launch three Android phones in the country one after the other, as per the reports. The smartphones are IDEOS U8150, IDEOS X5 and the X6.


IDEOS U8150 is expected to roll out in India in this month. The features and specifications of U8150 are pretty good for such an affordable priced handset. The cell phone is expected to feature a 2.8 inch QVGA “Capacitive” touch-screen. Interestingly, the phone will feature Android 2.2 (Froyo) at launch. However, it has slow 528 MHz processor. Other features include 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and 3.5mm jack.


IDEOS U8150 Price in India: As of now, there is no official announcement on the pricing of IDEOS U8150, however it is expected to be priced at under Rs. 8,000. It’s a nice phone and can cater to entry level, medium and mid-high level segments.

Huawei Phones


Apart from IDEOS U8150, Company is also planning to launch two mid-range Huawei IDEOS branded phones – the X5 and the X6. These phones are expected to hit the Indian stores by mid-January 2011. They both run on the Froyo edition of Google’s Android operating system.


Both, X5 and X6 are almost similar when it comes to specifications, like both of them feature 5 megapixel auto-focus cameras that can also record 720p video. They also support Dolby mobile sound enhancement and 3G speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps. However, X5 comes with a 3.8-inch capacitive screen, while the X6 has a bigger 4.1-inch 800 x 480 pixel one.


“We are planning to launch Android based smartphones Huawei X5 and X6 around the third week of January, and as of now I cannot comment about its pricing”, Huawei spokesperson said.
