The Ruling Left Front maintained its sweep in all the Nagar Panchayats barring only two. The Marxists are also ahead in most of the 35 Wards of the Agartala Municipal Council.
The Two Nagar Panchayats that went to opposition Congress are Sabroom and Ambassa.Till 10 am results for five Wards in the AMC were declared in which four went to Left Front including that of incumbent chairperson Sankar Das.The one that was retained by Congress Milan Das is Ward 1. Sankar Das beat his closest rival Dipak Majumdar by 354 votes.
